Hospice At Home

Virtually everything we do is available in your own home as well as at our centre at Russell House.

We’ll bring our support and services out to you in the comfort and convenience of your own home. The only exceptions are things which are just too difficult to carry – like our hydrotherapy pool and our garden playground!

We can offer specialist clinical care, counselling, help with household chores, play time, and even looking after your children while you take some time out. All of these are available at home and at Russell House, and you can swap and change between the two as much as you like. It can also make it easier for you to get home sooner after a stay at Russell House or in hospital.

Clinical care

Sometimes your child may need a little extra care, which we can often provide at home so they don’t have to be admitted to the hustle and bustle of hospital. Our specialist nurses can prescribe and administer drugs, help you to manage and control symptoms, and plan every aspect of your child’s care. And since they’re available 24/7, you can always pick up the phone and talk to someone, or they’ll come out to you, even in those difficult hours between midnight and dawn.

Therapeutic support

We can bring you our full range of therapeutic services, including creative therapy and counselling. These are available to the whole family in the familiar surroundings of your own home, so you don’t have to travel – especially if going anywhere involves a lot of hassle.

End of life and beyond

Some families will need to think about the end of their child’s life. Our Hospice at Home service can also include end-of-life care for children, enabling them to stay in the comfort and familiarity of their own home while giving you control over what happens. We can also help you with memory-making, and saying your last goodbyes at home by bringing a Cuddle Cot or Cuddle Blankets. And of course, we can offer you bereavement support for a lifetime.
